Tears and Triumph
With the Olympic Games coming to a close tonight, there has been many a tear shed by me over the past two weeks. I get very emotional watching Aussie athletes realising their dreams of competing (and sometimes winning) for their country. My most memorable moment was when the Campbell Sisters were being interviewed after their 100m final while obviously shattered, Bronte said
"The Olympics is not about winning, its about TRYING to win"
I think there is something in that for every parent trying to encourage their kids to give things a go and try their best, no matter what the outcome.
