  • Project Ten on The Grace Tales

Today my story, along with some lovely photos taken by the very talented Nikole Ramsay, are featured on The Grace Tales. It will give you a little insight into when and how I started my business, where I work (at home in my front room) and the first stage of my home renovation (and some beautiful pics of my boys - the reason why I do this!). If you could only see the house at the moment, as I write, there is a front end loader in my backyard and 4 carpenters building a new front veranda. I can't wait...

  • The Perfect Beach Bag.....

As many of you will know, Project Ten came about after struggling to find a huge, light and beautiful beach bag 2 years ago. I saw so many people struggling down to the sand with 2 or 3 bags balanced precariously in one hand and holding children's hands in the other. I am so happy many of you keep coming back each year to update your bag as they get so much use. I often get told that people walk up to them on the beach and ask them where they got their bag....word of mouth is so great...

Tomorrow we are going on a little holiday to escape the cold, spend some more time on the beach with my kids and hopefully teach my husband how to relax! The Project Ten online store will be closed while we are away as I am a one-woman show. Please visit one of my lovely retailers if you need a bag while I'm away. See you back here on the 6th of July!

  • Do you Pin?

I absolutely love Pinterest. I can remember having folders of magazine tear sheets when we started renovating our first house . What a mess it was, and  you could never find the one you needed. The genius that though of Pinterest has solved all those issues, thank goodness. We are looking at renovating our next house soon, and it is so easy to get our architect and builder to just “follow” our boards on Pinterest to see what we like. The other funny thing about Pinterest is that I feel I “know” some of my followers and the people I...

  • The round about way of getting somewhere

I don’t know about you, but I love curling up with a good book in winter. I have been reading lots of good ones lately as the Beach Bag business tends to slow down a bit during the colder months. At the moment I am reading Apply Within by Michaela Mcguire. On the cover it describes the book as “stories of career sabotage”. It made me pick it up as I have had rather a varied career history as well. I was always envious of friends who knew exactly what they wanted to do when they left school.  I, on...
